Specifications HDS-M - Density separators
WIMA’s HDS-M is a water-based density separator with an integrated sediment separator (gravel, clay,…). The basis of the HDS-M is the infinitely adjustable propeller. This propeller allows you to determine the power of the flow and thus process a wider range of products. The material comes flushed into the ”flow area” of the machine. The heavy pieces sink to the bottom. Here a shaftless auger takes care of the discharge of the heavy products up to a size of 150mm. The light products are transported through the water to the drum. Here the material is stripped of water and moved to the end of the drum. Under the drum there are 2 water chambers. In the first chamber, the settling chamber, the flow rate is reduced and rapidly settling components from the wastewater sink to the bottom. There, there is a small sediment screw that continuously drains the material and discharges the water. The water flows back to the intake chamber and is again available for the process. With the help of the flow rate, we can get particles with a density of strong, > 1g/cm³ down to the fine fraction. For good separation it is necessary to limit the ratio of the largest to the smallest grain. The purer the water the better the density separator can do its job.
